Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs. . .

Today we read "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs."  We used a giant hamburger to retell the beginning, middle, and ending.

Then the students worked in small groups to rewrite their own and create their own "mini-burger."  One of my fabulous teammates, Mrs. Ferguson, drew the burgers and came up with this idea.  I chose to use "Cloudy With a Chance..." for phonics review of "ou", but here are a couple of other books that could be used with this idea.

I also love Rachelle's burger ideas which are cute and doable in any primary class!

  1. My class had "ou" and "ow" words last week for spelling. Too bad I didn't see this. I will definitely file this away to use next year. I love the Ouch stories using band-aids. Too cute!
