Snowflake Measurement Activity

Here is an example of one of the activities from the "snowflake fun" mini-unit that I posted.  We have been learning about comparing numbers and using terminology "before," "after," and "between."  





 This activity was a nice extension and an excellent way to practice estimation.  Here is the student recording sheet that I created for students to predict and record.  Then they practiced writing the number in different forms (tally marks,  tens/ones, and number word.)

  1. I LOVE this idea. I think we'll try to graph the different heights in our class and see how many are of a certain height. I like the idea of taking their picture by the snowflakes too.
