Snow Day #2

So we're out of school today (for the second day in a row).  Not sure if we'll make it back tomorrow if the temperature doesn't get above freezing!  Here's a picture of our house/driveway.

It really doesn't look that bad does it?  Here's the reason why we've been out of school!

Yesterday we couldn't even lift the garage.  There was a huge coating of ice that sealed the garage door and lined the driveway!  We didn't venture out at all!

However, since Porter spent about 30 minutes last night shoveling and breaking ice glaciers, we ventured out today.  It was hilarious because as he drove, he commentated the whole way with tips about how to be safe while driving on icy roads!  He has already informed me that if we have school tomorrow, he will drop me off because I don't need to drive in these conditions!

In case you're wondering we had no problems at all.  The most dangerous part was when we were driving near people who were either going way too fast or getting way too close to our car.  I'm working on the next part of "14 days of Love," and it will be up soon!  I'm pretty bummed about missing Groundhog Day, especially since I had so many fun activities planned.  I also purchased Cara's groundhog unit, and we were really going to celebrate...I'm still not sure why I get into Groundhog Day so much, but every year I get so excited about it!

Groundhog Day

I know it's still January, but February is one of my favorite months!  I get soooo excited! Today while I was enjoying some (much needed) R&R at home, I spent some time surfing the net and looking ahead for next month. I love Groundhog Day (don't ask me why I love it so much-I even have a stuffed groundhog with a reversible shirt that says (winter/spring)-got it from Build A Bear several years ago)! Valentine's Day is one of my favorite holidays, and my oldest son was born in February (on President's Day)!
