Snow Day #2

So we're out of school today (for the second day in a row).  Not sure if we'll make it back tomorrow if the temperature doesn't get above freezing!  Here's a picture of our house/driveway.

It really doesn't look that bad does it?  Here's the reason why we've been out of school!

Yesterday we couldn't even lift the garage.  There was a huge coating of ice that sealed the garage door and lined the driveway!  We didn't venture out at all!

However, since Porter spent about 30 minutes last night shoveling and breaking ice glaciers, we ventured out today.  It was hilarious because as he drove, he commentated the whole way with tips about how to be safe while driving on icy roads!  He has already informed me that if we have school tomorrow, he will drop me off because I don't need to drive in these conditions!

In case you're wondering we had no problems at all.  The most dangerous part was when we were driving near people who were either going way too fast or getting way too close to our car.  I'm working on the next part of "14 days of Love," and it will be up soon!  I'm pretty bummed about missing Groundhog Day, especially since I had so many fun activities planned.  I also purchased Cara's groundhog unit, and we were really going to celebrate...I'm still not sure why I get into Groundhog Day so much, but every year I get so excited about it!

  3. Your house is beautiful! We're on snow day #8 and just got the call that we're off tomorrow, they're afraid of roofs collapsing, scary. Anyway, I really got into groundhogs day too this year, if you like to bake you will love this blog: http://www.gourmetmomonthego.com/search/label/Groundhog%20Day

  4. Today was supposed to be our 100th day and I am really bummed about missing it...although I guess we'll just have it on Tuesday.
Are your boys going crazy from being inside all day? Katelyn is asking, "Where are we going?" and "What are we going to do?" by 10:00 in the morning every day!

  5. Yes, we are all getting "cabin fever"! Tomorrow we've got to get out...I'm hoping to make a trip to Dollar Tree and Target. We can stay in there at least an hour! It was supposed to be our 100th day too...we'll make it up on Tuesday as well (if we're back in school on Friday)!
